SoftMoney is a Danish funding consultancy helping startups, SMEs and research-driven companies secure funding through Danish and European grant programmes.

We specialise in programmes including InnoBooster, Eurostars, EIC Accelerator, Grand Solutions and EUDP, providing end-to-end support from funding strategy and consortium building to proposal writing and project development.

With our No Cure, No Pay model, clients minimise financial risk while maximising their chances of securing innovation funding.

No Cure No Pay

We go all in on every application and maintain a high success rate. That allows us to offer a No Cure – No Pay model. In simple terms:

if an application does not succeed,
you pay us nothing.

We’re With You All the Way

We guide you safely through the entire process. Our collaboration starts before the application, continues during the process, and carries on afterwards. We stay with you until every opportunity has been explored and your project has secured funding.

Winning Projects

We only take on projects we believe have a strong chance of receiving funding, and we are thorough in everything we do. Our goal is to build winning projects that can attract larger funding rounds over time from both Danish and European programmes.

Time Is Money

We work closely with you to create a winning project, while respecting that your time is valuable. We manage the application process and handle the time-consuming tasks, so you can stay focused on running your business.

  • Eurostars is designed primarily for innovative SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) that actively carry out research and development. In the EU, an SME is defined as a company with fewer than 250 employees and either an annual turnover below €50 million or a balance sheet total below €43 million.

The programme is particularly well suited to companies developing innovative technologies with strong international commercial potential. Successful projects are commonly found within sectors such as medtech, biotech, digital health, deep tech, advanced manufacturing, AI, robotics, clean energy, advanced materials and industrial software. Projects typically involve international collaboration and should have a clear route to market within two years after completion.

  • The preparation time depends on the funding programme and the project’s complexity.

Smaller applications can often be completed within two to four weeks, while larger European applications such as Eurostars or EIC Accelerator typically require one to two months of preparation.

As a small, specialised consultancy, we prioritise quality over volume. Rather than rushing applications, we focus on developing well-structured proposals with strong commercial arguments and a high probability of success.

  • Our No Cure, No Pay model means exactly what it says: if your application is not successful, you pay us nothing.

We only take on projects that we genuinely believe have a strong chance of receiving funding. This allows us to invest fully in every application while giving our clients complete confidence that our success depends on their success.

  • The amount of funding available depends on several factors, including the funding programme, your company’s size, the project’s Technology Readiness Level (TRL), eligible project costs, the number of consortium partners and the type of innovation being developed.

As an example, an innovative SME developing new healthcare technologies within medtech, biotech or digital health may be eligible for grants ranging from approximately €300,000 to more than €10 million, depending on the programme. Smaller national grants such as InnoBooster typically fund early-stage development, while programmes like Eurostars, EIC Accelerator and other European initiatives can support much larger international innovation projects.

Our collaboration does not end once funding has been secured. We continue helping clients identify new funding opportunities and can also advise on grant administration, reporting and how to make the best strategic use of awarded funding to support future growth.

  • Softmoney can help funding most projects, but specialises in helping innovative startups and SMEs secure funding through both Danish and European funding programmes. We have extensive experience preparing successful applications for InnoBooster, Eurostars, Grand Solutions, EUDP, EIC Accelerator and DLSC Funding. We help identify the funding programme that best matches your technology, project maturity and commercial ambitions, and can also develop a long-term funding strategy that combines multiple grants over time.

  • Yes – but AI should be used as a professional assistant rather than as the primary author.

At SoftMoney, we use AI to create structured first drafts, improve readability, identify inconsistencies and review proposals against programme-specific evaluation criteria. Every draft is built exclusively from verified client information and refined using our experience with funding programmes such as InnoBooster, Eurostars and EIC Accelerator.

For larger proposals, AI significantly reduces the amount of work required from the client while improving consistency and completeness. However, all technical content, commercial arguments and factual information are always reviewed and validated by experienced consultants and the client before submission.

  • Successful funding applications require more than a good idea. They need the right funding strategy, a strong project concept, clear commercial potential and an application that matches evaluator expectations.

At SoftMoney, we help companies identify the right funding opportunities, including programmes such as InnoBooster, Eurostars, EIC Accelerator, Grand Solutions and EUDP, and transform innovative ideas into competitive funding proposals.

We strengthen applications by focusing on:

    • A clear innovation and value proposition
    • Strong market potential and commercial strategy
    • Realistic development plans and milestones
    • Evidence-based arguments and measurable impact
    • Alignment with funding criteria and evaluator expectations

For international programmes, we also support consortium building to ensure partners add real technical or commercial value.

We use AI as a quality assurance tool to improve structure, consistency and alignment with evaluation criteria, while ensuring all content remains based on verified project information and expert knowledge.

With our No Cure, No Pay model, we only take on projects where we believe there is a realistic chance of success. Our goal is not just to secure individual grants, but to help build a long-term funding strategy that supports your company’s growth.
